Importing Audio Files

How to import MP3, M4A, WAV, and AAC files into Berea.

2 min read

If you have sermon audio from a podcast app, downloaded file, or church recording, you can import it directly into Berea.

Supported formats

Berea supports the most common audio formats:

  • MP3
  • M4A (AAC)
  • WAV
  • CAF

How to import

  1. 1Tap the + button on the home screen.
  2. 2Select Import Audio.
  3. 3Browse your Files app or other document providers to find the audio file.
  4. 4Select the file. Berea will create a new sermon entry and begin transcribing.

Transcription happens through Deepgram and typically takes 1–3 minutes for a standard 45-minute sermon. You'll see a progress indicator on the sermon card.

After import

Once transcription is complete, the full post-processing pipeline runs automatically — the same Deepgram batch upgrade, transcript polishing, and study material generation available for live recordings. Add the speaker name and scripture passage to get the most personalized results.

Tip

Many podcast apps have a "share" button that lets you send audio directly to Berea. Look for the share sheet on any downloaded episode and select Berea from the list.
